hatch

We designed a fast corporate site for hatch that carries its minimal wordmark across every page and puts the content first. The team can now publish new pages and content without needing a developer.

Starting point

Needs and goals

hatch had a clean, typographic brand, but the old site didn't reflect it: a crowded template, heavy images and pages that were hard to update. Adding content meant calling in outside help every time.

The goal was a site that keeps the brand's minimal voice, presents content in a clear hierarchy and loads very fast. A content panel the team could manage on their own and a solid technical SEO foundation were also in scope.

Goals
  • A minimal interface consistent with the brand
  • Clear content hierarchy
  • A panel the team can run themselves
  • Speed and technical SEO
Approach

How we worked

  1. 01

    Content audit

We reviewed the existing pages and decided what to merge, simplify and rewrite.

  2. 02

    Typographic design system

Starting from the wordmark, we built a system of type scales, spacing and components.

  3. 03

    Modular content panel

We designed a content model that lets the team build new pages by combining blocks.

  4. 04

    Performance and SEO

We launched with static generation, optimised images and structured data.

Outcome

After launch

The new site loads in 1.3 seconds on mobile and the home page scores 98 for Lighthouse performance. A clearer content structure and technical SEO lifted organic sessions by around 36%.

Simpler pages take visitors to the contact step more directly, and completed contact forms rose by 25% per month. The team now publishes new content on its own.

We are setting up a regular content calendar with the team and adding new page blocks as they are needed.
