misch

We built a fast, collection-led online store for misch, a fashion brand known for its minimal typography. Lookbooks, size selection and mobile checkout now move at the same pace as the brand's pared-back style.

Starting point

Needs and goals

misch tells each collection through strong photography, but heavy images made the old store slow on mobile. Size and colour variants were confusing, and fit-related returns were weighing on operations.

The goal was a store that keeps the brand's typographic identity, presents collections in an editorial way, loads fast on a phone and makes choosing a size easier.

Goals
  • Load in under 2 seconds on mobile
  • Present collections editorially
  • Reduce size-related returns
  • Simplify mobile checkout
Approach

How we worked

  1. 01

    Discovery

We analysed return reasons, the most visited collections and drop-off points in mobile sessions.

  2. 02

    Design

We built a grid and product page layout around the brand's minimal typography, with photography up front.

  3. 03

    Build

We developed a headless storefront in Next.js, connected to the Shopify Storefront API with image optimisation.

  4. 04

    Launch and growth

We backed new collection drops with lookbook pages and reviewed performance weekly.

Outcome

After launch

Collection pages load in 1.6 seconds on mobile. Faster pages and a simpler checkout raised mobile conversion by 33% compared with the previous store.

Size guides and fit notes cut size-related returns by 19%. With easier paths from lookbooks to products, pages per session rose 27%.

Next on the list are a pre-order flow for seasonal drops and back-in-stock notifications.

Collections and lookbook

An editorial lookbook each season; items in a look can be added straight to the cart.

Size and variant management

Size and colour live in one component, and out-of-stock sizes show instantly.

03

Size guide

Per-product measurements and fit notes make picking the right size easier.

04

Mobile checkout

Short forms, saved addresses and express payment make checkout a few steps.

05

Photo layout

Product photos use consistent ratios, with zoom and swipe.

06

Image optimisation

Cloudinary serves images sized for each device, keeping pages light.
